Sorting controls the order rows appear in within the allocation grid — separate from grouping, which controls how rows are organized into sections. The sort dropdown sits next to the grouping dropdown at the top-right of the allocation grid, and the available sort options change depending on which tab you're viewing and which grouping is selected.

Where to Find Sorting
Sorting is available on:
People (sorts the list of people)
Projects (sorts the list of projects)
Single Person, grouped by Project or by Role
Single Project, grouped by Person, Role, or Task
Single Program, grouped by Project or by Person
Click the sort dropdown and choose an option. The grid reloads with the new order applied, and your choice is remembered the next time you open that same view on this device.

How Missing Data and Ties Are Handled
Names, codes, and dates: records with no value (for example, a person with no last name entered, or a project with no end date) always appear at the bottom of the list, no matter which direction you sort in. Sorting Z→A doesn't move them back to the top — they stay at the bottom either way.
Total allocations: zero is treated as a real, meaningful value. Sorting ascending puts people or projects with zero hours first; sorting descending puts them last, alongside everyone else, in normal numeric order.
Overbooking and underbooking: these work a little differently, because a score of zero means "not overbooked" or "not underbooked" — which isn't really a value to rank, it's an absence of the thing you're sorting by. So the list is split into two parts:
People who do have overbooking/underbooking, ranked highest to lowest (or lowest to highest, depending on direction you chose)
Everyone else, grouped at the bottom and listed alphabetically by last name — this group stays at the bottom regardless of sort direction
Cost/budget on projects: projects with no budget set at all are treated the same way — placed at the bottom, since there's no number to compare. Projects with a budget are sorted normally above them.
Your chosen sort order is remembered per browser/device. If you switch to a different computer or clear your browser data, the view resets to its default sort order. Changing the sort on one tab (for example, People) doesn't affect any other tab or view.
