The Resourcing Requests feature in Silverbucket helps you turn unassigned role needs into actionable requests. Whether you’re starting from scratch or working directly from project planning data, the process is designed to be clear, flexible, and collaborative.
A Resourcing Request is a structured way to communicate and manage your resource needs. It allows project managers and team leads to collaborate with resource owners, ensuring the right person is allocated to the right role.

Resourcing Requests now carry more context and appear directly in the resource planner, making it easier to evaluate demand, compare it against availability, and move from request to allocation without switching views.
You can create a resourcing request either:
Use this when you know the role or person you need, even if no placeholder exists yet.
Navigate to the tab and click in the top right corner.
Use this when you’ve already defined placeholder roles in your project plan.
In the , locate the placeholder and open the action menu.Select from the list. This will copy over the role data into a new request.
The role is automatically selected based on the placeholder in your project plan. This ensures consistency between your project structure and the resourcing request.
Once the request is created, you can:
- Adjust the (start and end dates, workload).
- Add .
- Suggest a specific .
- Assign the request to a for clearer delivery context.
- Associate the request with an for better reporting and filtering.
All changes are saved within the request for easy collaboration and tracking.
Resourcing Requests now appear directly in the resource planner, allowing you to:
- See open demand alongside current and future allocations.
- Identify capacity gaps earlier.
- Prioritize requests based on timing and workload impact.
This view helps resource managers move from reactive assignment to proactive planning.
Once the request is finalized, update the to Accepted.
Click to create the actual project assignment.
The assignee will now appear in your project as a named resource, replacing the placeholder.
Track & Manage Requests
All requests can be viewed and managed under the tab, where you can filter and sort requests by:
- Status
- Project
- Requestor
- Acceptor
- Organization
- Task
- Request ID
Note: Requests without full metadata will appear under a “No group” category, ensuring nothing is hidden or lost in grouped views.
- Use inside the request to ask questions or clarify needs.
- Requests are versioned and time-stamped to track decision history.
- Once allocated, the request is marked complete and traceable in reporting.
