Filters - General Information

Filters

Every view in Silverbucket has the FILTERS section available. With filters, you can dictate what data is shown for you in any view. The filters carry over from one view to another after applying them and you can always reset them from the top row in Silverbucket under FILTERS. You can also create  FILTER SETS  to quickly use a set of desired filters.

Advanced, simple & quick filters

With advanced and simple filters you can dictate how detailed options you have in the FILTERS section. With advanced filters you can build your own specific filters with exactly the filters you wish to use. The simple filters are more straightforward and more automatic to use.

Quick filters currently only include the "HIDE EMPTY ROWS" option which is useful when you have empty groups / empty rows in the view after filtering and you wish to get rid of those. Feel free to try it out after filtering resourcing data based on the organisation node of a project, for example.

Filtering buttons

FILTERS: shows you all the available filters in that section. Simply click the filter you wish to use in the left column and it will be selected to the right side of the screen.

FILTER SET: shows you all the  filter sets  you have created before. By clicking on one, you automatically select those filters in the right side column.

+SAVE NEW: allows you to create a new  filter set . First, select the desired filters from the left side column. Then fill in the data for the filters. After you are done with all the filters, simply click SAVE NEW and you can create a new filter set for yourself.

RESTORE DEFAULTS: resets the current filters to the original, default state of filters. This is handy for starting over at any point and will also be practical when you might be missing some data because of your filters. In the default state of filters you have three pre-selected filters: People activity = active & Project activity = active & Unassigned activity = active.

CLEAR ALL: fully clears the filter view so you can have a fresh start. Note: empty slate is different from default filters.

QUICK FILTERS: Allows you to quickly use a pre-set filtering mode such as hiding empty rows in the view.

How to use the filters

Choose your category in the left and select the filter you wish to use under that category. By clicking a filter, it moves to the active filters on the right. These can then be applied by clicking APPLY in the bottom, filtering the view's data.

Default filters:

By default some filters are automatically activated to only show relevant data in the screen. Archived information in Silverbucket is seldom relevant to the user unless specifically searching for them.

Filtering actions

Two arrows icon: select similar filters that are enabled in this view, can be used to activate all similar filters for each category
Forbid icon: disable / enable the filter row
Trashcan icon: remove filter
Eye icon (shown after some filters are selected): show/hide inactive data

A greyed out filter in the selected filters means the filter is disabled.
A greyed out filter in the left-side listing indicates that it can't be used in this specific view.
