Tasks in Silverbucket are used to further describe what sort of work is being done for the project. Every project in Silverbucket has at least one task created for them; this is created automatically as the project is added. There is no limit to the number of tasks a project can have.
To create and manage tasks, click on the "+Modify project's tasks' button located just below the list of project memberships in the bottom left of the screen.

When you are in the GROUP BY: TASK mode, you can see the task timelines in the resourcing view. There are two ways to set the timelines for tasks:
1) In the 'MODIFY PROJECT'S TASKS' view you can enter the desired dates
2) In the GROUP BY: TASK mode you can click on the Timeline icon located top-right of the resourcing view. The Timeline icon allows you to quickly paint the start and end dates for your task which creates a nice waterfall view to track the project tasks.
